Cleveland Ace Deluxe Launching in India on September 20

will launch in India on September 20, 2018 followed by sometime in October and November 2018. Cleveland CycleWerks previewed their models at the Auto Expo 2018 and had plans to begin sales in the Indian market sometime around June, which was later deferred to October.

In terms of positioning, the Ace Deluxe will be the most affordable bike from the company, whereas Misfit will be touted as a slightly premium offering. The company will reveal the pricing at the official launch of its products, though these bikes are estimated to fall in the price bracket of Rs 2.2 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is also set to open dealerships in 10 cities most of which are located in South India. The company also has plans to sell these bikes online, though it hasn’t revealed much information on the same.

Cleveland CycleWerks will imports its motorcycle from China which will be assembled locally at its Pune plant. Since the localisation for these bikes is just 5-6 percent currently, the pricing will be on a higher side. It however plans to increase localisation of its products between 30 to 40 percent in future.

Coming to the Ace Deluxe, it is primarily a retro-styled naked bike which derives power from a 229cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine good for 15.4 bhp along with 16Nm of torque. It comes linked to a 5-speed gearbox and features a square-section single-downtube frame suspended on USD fork and dual shock-absorbers with five-step preload adjustability. Upon its launch in India, the model will rival the likes of TVS Apache RR 310 and KTM 250 Duke in the segment.

Aside from Ace Deluxe, the company also plans to launch Ace Scrambler and Ace Café in the country which are currently undergoing ARAI certification. In addition to the above models, the company is contemplating launching 125cc and 450cc bikes in India depending on the market response.
